One of the most popular kinds of summer camps in the world are those that center on religion and on the Bible. However, no two summer camps are the same, even if they incorporate the teachings of God. Thus, you should consider the different summer Bible camp themes for kids as much as the location and cost of attendance of the camp. The following are just some of the most common summer Bible camp themes for kids.

Sports

One of the best parts about a summer camp is that it gives kids the opportunity to spend some time outside. Thus, it is only normal for sports-based activities to be one of the most common summer Bible camp themes for kids. After a day of playing soccer, softball, or volleyball, a kid can then expect to lessons from the Bible. This makes the summer camp program all the more interesting: there is everything from intense activity and fun to spiritual development. This makes the summer camp all the more effective because it develops many areas of a child’s personality and interests while also promoting a spiritual relationship and knowledge of God and the Bible.

Activities

There are also summer Bible camp themes for kids that focus on specific activities or skills. For example, some camps focus on creative writing, music, or computer skills. Along with such activities, there is also a Bible or religious component. Thus, a child can go off to camp to learn as much about their passion or interest as they do about God and Jesus. This makes a camp all the more effective because it can develop a child’s talents while teaching the child as much about religion, God, and spirituality. The key to choosing between summer Bible camp themes for kids is to consider the child’s interests and talents as much as the religious studies offered by the organization.

Specific Bible Passages

Some summer Bible camp themes for kids focus on certain lessons or ideas from the Bible. Thus, one camp may focus on Jesus whereas another may focus on creation or the Old Testament. Thus, when choosing between summer camps, it pays to ask about the specific teachings of the camp. This way, you can tailor your child’s religious training or studies and can ensure that you choose the right camp for them.

Camping (Outdoor Adventure!)

Your browser does not support iframes.

List Price: $ 25.65

Couple Camping In The Woods. Camping is an outdoor recreational activity. The participants (known as campers) leave urban areas, their home region, or civilization and enjoy nature while spending one or several nights outdoors, usually at a campsite. Camping may involve the use of a tent, caravan, cabin, a primitive structure, or no shelter at all. In many parts of the world[where?], ‘camping’ refers exclusively to the use of tents or similar portable structures[citation needed. Camping as a recreational activity became popular in the early 20th century. Campers frequent national parks, other publicly owned natural areas, and privately owned campgrounds. Camping is a key part of the program of many youth organizations around the world, such as Scouting. It is used to teach self-reliance and team work. Camping is also used as a cheap form of accommodation for people attending large open air events such as sporting meetings and music festivals. Organizers often provide a field and other basic amenities

Summer Bible Camp Themes for Kids Fun Sun and God is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

Fun summer solstice activities for kids

What To Ask Camp Staff Before Choosing Summer Camp

what to ask camp staff before choosing summer camp.

Choosing a Girls’ Camp

Camping Activities

Camp

Choosing

Girls'

Image by The Jewish Agency for Israel Article by Mitchell Sears Parents of pre-teens and teens are often loathe to allow their young daughters to attend co-ed summer camp. Fortunately, there’s a very good alternative. Girls camps let girls enjoy all the traditional summer camp fun without the interference of boys or the worry on the part of their parents.

Most girls camps are set up just like any traditional summer camp in a woodsy setting. The only real difference is the fact the co-ed situation is not a part of the fare. What girls and their parents can expect at these camps, includes:

* Friendship building. Many campers at these retreats make lifelong, or at least summer long, friends. The opportunity for girls to be girls is a great way to help teens make new friends, even from remote or faraway locations.

* Skill building. Youth who take part in girls camps have the opportunity to learn all kinds of new things. From the proper way to start a fire and blaze a trail to how to fish for a big bass, it’s all possible.

* Activities. The activities at these camps tend to mirror many other co-ed summer camps. This means such things as hiking, swimming, sports, canoeing, horseback riding and even tent camping will all be involved. Some camps even offer archery and other related activities.

* Self-esteem building. Many of the activities involved in these camps are designed to help girls gain their own footing and build their self-esteem without the pressure of having young men around.

* Team building. This is another aspect quite common of this type of summer camp. Whether it’s cabin against cabin volley ball games, a scavenger hunt or team canoeing, working as a team is often emphasized, as well.

Parents looking at different summer camp possibilities will find there are specific girls camps all over the country. From actual faraway retreats to locations closer to home that might only offer day programs, these non-coed camps can be found.

When looking at different girls camps, it’s a very good idea to consider:

* Activities. Does the roster offer things that might appeal to your child? Would she really enjoy hiking and archery or would horseback riding be more up her alley? Try to match the child’s interests with the camp for the best outcome.

* Credentials. This is especially so for overnight camps, but is a good question to inquire about for day ones, as well. It is a very good idea to know why a camp is qualified to teach and care for a group of youth.

* Reputation. It does not hurt to find out what previous campers have thought about the experience. Do former campers return, or do they run screaming for the hills? Look for references or ask for them and then do check them out.

Girls camps can be a great alternative to co-ed adventures for pre-teens and teens. Providing an environment for girls to have fun just being girls, these camps tend to be very popular with campers and their parents, too!

Amelia Bedelia Goes Camping (I Can Read Book 2)

ISBN13: 9780060511067

Condition: New

Notes: BRAND NEW FROM PUBLISHER! 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. The camp blends traditional summer camp activities with contemporary Jewish American values to give each camper a mix of community and culture. Blue Star Camps features one of the most impressive Jewish camping experiences in the United States. With more than 500 acres of private facilities, campers are treated to almost any activity they can imagine from field sports to hiking to waterfront activities. With spectacular facilities, staff, and culture, Blue Star campers are encouraged to explore their roots and spread their wings. While campers socialize primarily in their age group, all six camps join together for BBQs, carnivals, and concerts. Campers are given two elective activities each day in addition to swim and athletics. As campers get older, more adventurous activity choices are added. Jewish cultural activities and services are prevalent throughout each campers experience at Blue Star. Which is better?

Going to summer camp has been a traditional American activity for kids and teens. Until a few years ago, summer fun for youngsters was all about getting away from the city and enjoying clean country air while participating in typical camping activities such as hiking.

With changing times, the traditional camp has progressed from campfires and nature trails to an interesting and eclectic blend of activities. Your child can choose from sports, art, rollerblading, martial arts, filmmaking, video game design, weight loss, magic, performing arts, computer camps and many more.

The idea is to let your kids learn new skills, impart socio-cultural values and acquire advanced knowledge about stuff they are already interested in. Kids’ or teen camps are held in safe and healthy environments and are supervised by qualified counselors.

Day camp or overnight camp – Pros and cons

Its easy to get overwhelmed by the myriad choices that are available with summer camps. But the first thing you need to decide is whether your child ought to go to a day camp or an overnight summer camp.

It all depends on whether your child is old enough, mature enough and independent enough to go to overnight or sleepaway camps. Some overnight summer camps accept kids as young as six or seven, but that is probably a bit too young. Kids aged 10-12 can more or less take care of themselves and have greater maturity to handle independent living at overnight summer camp.

But there’s really no magic age when your kids are totally prepared for sleepaway camp – it depends on whether they have ever been away from home overnight, or how they handle different situations.

Another consideration is the location of the camp. If it’s a day camp, you’ll have to take care of the logistics every single day of the camp. Overnight camps are relatively hassle-free.

Benefits of attending overnight summer camp

• Campers get to bond with each other and even make lifelong friendships at overnight camps. This might not be possible in a day camp.
• Kids who have been to overnight summer camp experience a sense of community that can only come from living for extended periods of time with one’s peers.
• Kids learn to adjust with others and imbibe values such as sharing, tolerance, independence and self-reliance. The independence, however, can only be practiced within pre-defined boundaries, thus creating a sense of security.
• Your child gets to interact with kids who would normally be outside his/her social milieu.
• Overnight summer camp helps to increase your child’s self-esteem and self-confidence and fosters important qualities such as leadership, mutual understanding and the ability to make friends.
• Being away from home is crucial for your child’s maturity and growth. The experience of overnight summer camp really helps along the rocky path to adulthood.

But whether you choose to send your child to a day camp or an overnight one, it will be a productive experience whose benefits will certainly last for a lifetime.

How To Use Your God Power – Chapter 2 – The Meaning of Life (Your Life) (Part 3 of

How To Use Your God Power To Get Everything You Ever Wanted and Live the Life of Your Dreams – “The Master’s Course” By: Richard Lee McKim Jr – Learn the Secrets of the Universe. In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, people rely on the convenience, comfort and rapid exchange of information through the latest technology.

Campers prefer to connect with the camping company via visiting their official website. Hence, it is vital that as an owner of a camping company, you are able to make information available at any time to your campers.

Some of this information includes online camp registration, photo and e-mail services, and online camper accounts. Parents as well as all participants can have convenience in registering at anytime and anywhere, complete with e-mail confirmation receipts. Your camp software should be able to do this plus the chance to edit information with simple editing tools for non-technical staff.

For photos taken during the camping activities, most campers find it very attractive to be able to upload such photos for sharing with friends and family. And what better way of informing friends and family that your campers have photos to share if not through an e-mail supported by your website?

To enhance the customer service of your camping company, you should have the online camper accounts enabled in your website and which is provided by your boot camping software. In this feature, your campers can process secure payments online by credit cards, debit cards and electronic checks, view their balances and print statements and invoices online. And if there are discounts and any codes to be applied, your system can handle this.

Nonetheless, the camping software must not only benefit of your campers, after all, it is your duty to maintain organized data management for better management of camp operations. Some of the applications or features that you should look for in shopping for the most appropriate software for your camping company are staff and prospect application management, merchandise and camp store, program management, marketing solutions.

In staff and prospect application management, the software must allow you to manage staff and participant information in the database It must also allow your prospective staff to apply in customizable applications online, track status on applicants and hiring, schedule dates and time for interviews, and record notes about the interview.

Your camp software should enable you to sell products such as souvenirs, gears and equipment that can be viewed, while campers register online and in person. Sales of products must also be completed online and on the site. And if parents would like to put money into a camp store account, they should be able to do so without hassles. They can also view purchase history from their account.

Data management is very important. If your camp software does not allow you to manage with ease dates on activities, information on the capacity and availability of cabins and bunks, and monitor groups and their activities, you should choose one that does.

Finally, there should be marketing solutions to increase your profits. You can do this via sending your packages by e-mail, online advertising, referral system and more. Some camp software provides additional features to their customers as part of providing quality services.

Question by no?.
-Wood Buffalo National Park in northern Alberta
-Quttinirpaaq, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut
-Kluane National Park in Yukon
-Auyuitttuq National Park in Baffin Island, Nunavut
-Tuktut National Park, NWT
-Jasper National Park, Rocky Mountains

Best answer:

Answer by Eric S
I’ve been to Jasper National PArk of the ones you mentioned, it is AMAZING. Try An Extreme Sports Camp!

Remember camp when you were a kid? You spent your days horseback riding, petting farm animals and shooting bows and arrows. Your nights were filled with skits, s’mores, and singing songs around the campfire.

You can still find summer programs like these. There will always be a market for the tradtional camp experience. But today’s youth often demands more stimulating camp activities. Extreme sports camps are where it’s at!

Extreme sports camps run the gamut from surfing camps to wakeboarding camps to dirt biking camps and more. Though extreme sports camps are often viewed as “riskier” than traditional camps, the risks or dangers are often more perceived than actual when the camp takes proper precautions.

What are the “proper precautions” needed to keep kids safe at extreme sports camps?

In general, the camp staff requires additional training and expertise in the activities being offered. New, modern, and well-maintained equipment must be utilized. And weather conditions (such as at a surf camp, for example) must be just right; you don’t want your child learning to surf on a 5 foot wave when a 1-foot wave is more than appropriate for a beginner.

Since extreme sports camp activities are typically more challenging than traditional camp activities, your child’s potential for personal growth and development is enormous. It is not unusual for parents to report a dramatic increase in their child’s self-confidence and esteem after participating in an extreme sports camp. Imagine your son or daughter’s sense of pride and achievement after conquering the biggest wave at surf camp!

The thrill and fun of attending an extreme sports camp can’t be beat. But remember, the necessity for proper safety provisions, supervision, equipment, and personnel cannot be overstated. Assuming these important variables are in place, your child could be in for the most amazing camp experience of their life.

PMR|SMPN1 SERANG|BANTEN| p.3

Camping activity of PMR member in P-0ne

The Girls’ Guide to Campfire Activities is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun At Girls Camps

Kids Camp!: Activities for the Backyard or Wilderness (A Kid’s Guide series)

Great Alternative to the Traditional Vacation: Girls Camps

1st Thing Needed to Rock Your Camps – Camping Tents!

Camping Activities

1st Thing Needed to Rock Your Camps – Camping Tents! Is a camping adventure in your list of future activities? If it is, chances are you also need a list of reminders to make sure that your next camping trip will be truly exciting and full of fun. The list may include the following:

1. Add a sense of community and family bonding to your camping trip. Invite friends, neighbors and family members to join you in your adventure. Make it clear, however, that not everybody needs to be in one campsite. This will give you and the other members of the group some degree of privacay while the level of fun and excitement remains the same for everybody. Also you need not invite them for the whole duration that you plan to undertake your camping adventure. They may want to stay with your group for a day or two only. The admission fee will have to pay shall be worth it.

2. Adding fun and excitement to your next camping trip will require you to maximize the use of facilities available at the campsite or campground park where you will be at. If your campsite has, for example, boat rentals that you can get at a reasonable rate, go and consider having one. And then campground parks normally offer various facilities, like hiking trails, fishing and swimming facilities. You might as well take advantage of all of them. Keep in mind that paying for admission fee normally entitles you access to those facilities.

3. Orient yourself with more camping activities through internet browsing. Majority of campgrounds in the US offers facilities where you can engage in various enjoyable and exciting activities. As mentioned, you can go hiking, swimming, boating, or engage in sports activities. But you might need more of these especially if you plan to take a long camping adventure or camping trip. You can research useful information from the internet and produce a list of other activities you may want to undertake even outside of your campgrounds.

4. Be sure with your provisions. Be ready to gear yourself up. You will be needing equipment and supplies. Tents, boots, cookware, clothing and food are some of the essential provisions. The amount of food you bring must be sufficient enough for you and your guests to ensure fun and excitement in your next camping trip. The amount of food you need to bring will depend on how many are in your group and for how long you will be out camping. Here is one more tip about guests. There can be campers close to where you will be camping at and you might feel the urge to invite them over for a snack or dinner. It can be a great idea. It may brighten up your day some more and win a few more friends.

5. Recording your camping adventure is one more way of adding fun and excitement to your next camping trip. You can document your adventure by bringing along with you video camera or camera. Taking photos or video is exciting itself, and you can keep lasting memories of your trip. You would surely want these memorabilia especially if you are planning for your first camping adventure, or having it with family members, or with your romantic partner.

6. Finally, making your trip spontaneous and doing it all in the spirit of fun and excitement can be the key. Do not forget that you can turn your camping trip into an adventure and a vaction all at the same time. So make the most of it regardless of whether you are having it for only one day or for several weeks. Because after this you will have to go back to your fast-faced and stressful everyday life.

Question by Abbey.
My husband and I are 30 and 26 respectively and our anniversary is coming up in a few weeks. Operation Purple camp also helps kids to gain confidence and teaches them to be stewards of the community and of the environment.

In 2008, military children ages seven to 17 had a chance to stay at the free, week-long, overnight camp at one of 62 locations in 37 states and territories. Camps are free to all participants, thanks to support from the Sierra Club and the Sierra Club Foundation. More than 20,000 kids have participated in the program since its inception.

War takes its toll not only on the troops who fight in the field, but also on the Families who wait and worry at home. More than 155,000 kids have at least one parent who is deployed in the war on terrorism. That number doesn’t include those experiencing routine, but often lengthy, deployments and separations from loved ones through military service. Many of these children have more than one parent or Family member deployed.

The Operation Purple camp program, created in 2004, imparts the message on these young heroes that they serve, too.

Any military child can apply, but priority is given to those who have a parent, guardian, or Family household member deployed between September 2008 and December 2009. If all spaces are not filled with campers who meet the deployment criteria, the remaining camp slots are filled with any military child from any service branch, the National Guard, Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association.

For more information about program, visit www.operationpurple.org. There will be adults too, so it should be exciting.

Best answer:

Answer by Mishe
Scavenger hunt for the little ones, Smores on the campfire, ghost stories, bike riding, rafting

What do you think? Answer in the comment below!

Powered by Yahoo Answers

Summer Camps For Kids, Teen And Youth

How to keep children, teenagers and youth active and entertained during summer times is the main aim of the most summer camps. Even though there are varieties of camps organized all over the world, but education and fun remain at the center. Unlike traditional classroom setting, which is often uninteresting, the fun-based environment at a camp provides the campers with knowledge and education that can help them develop great learning skills and reinforce their relationships with the other campers.

Summer Camps in USA:

On the whole, the most popular summer camps are organized for a week or 8 weeks, which are often called overnight camps whereas some are for just 1 day called day camps. In America, some specialty camps such as game camps or sport camps often run a week or less which are meant for helping children discover and improve their learning and have fun. Besides theses, there are kids camps, children camps, girls camp, and youth camps that are of major attractions in the USA.

When parents send their children to a summer camp, they basically expect the camp operators to deal with their children with special care. The camp activities and programs need to be geared towards making the kids and teens vigorous and active. Whatever it may be, the camp experience should help the children in their future study and their life as well.

Girls Camp:

There are separate camps for girls often called girls camp. Girls, like boys, can excel in almost everything, whether it is fashion designing, acting, video game designing or anything else. Girls now can unleash their creativity and join in various camp activities at a girl camp.

Youth Camp:

There are summer experiences for the youth to participate in at youth camp. For many camper, spending their time each summer away at camp create a entertaining and exciting adventure being away from parents. Youth camp, chiefly, entails longer program stays of more than three weeks, provides a fine bonding experience among the youth and counselors. Camp creates a good opportunity for the youth to have fun, learning new things and sports. Moreover, youth camps help the campers build the camping spirit and community.

Choose the Best American Summer Camp:

Whether you are finding youth camp, girls camp, or children camps, please make sure that it is certified by the ACA American Camp Association. Before choosing a camp, check out the camp courses, staff-members, camp safety and security. It will be a good idea to consult the former campers to get the views about a specific camp.

20070428 – Camping – (by Casey) – 479006702_56a7ebc038_b – Clint – funny face – crossed eyes

Image by Rev. Spending the night outdoors with your children can be a great way to renew your closeness with them while making sure that they learn something. Camping outdoors can be a great way to increase your children’s awareness about nature and their surroundings. You can also make use of camping as a special activity that will harness your child’s life skills.

If you are planning to have a night out with your children this weekend, you should first orient yourself with the following tips that can help you make the most out of camping with your kids:

a. Plan your trip with your kids. Make sure that your kids are highly involved with the activity. When deciding where you will set your camp, consider their interests. However, do not forget your children’s actual outdoor experiences along with their corresponding ages. When plannng your itinerary, make sure that you will allow your children to pick the activities that they want to engage in. When shopping for your equipment, tools, food and beverages, bring your children and let them make their choices. Encourage them to prepare and pack their things but make sure that you provide proper guidance so you can be certain that they will not forget anything.

b. When going camping for the first time, try a backyard camp-out first. This will help you gauge if your children are ready for a real outdoor night out. Such will also help them prepare themselves for a night out of their usual bedroom scenery. When having a backyard camp-out, better teach your kids the basics of camping such as how to set up their very own tent. Show them how they should use other camping equipment as well and let them sleep in their actual sleeping bags. Try cooking outdoors as well and try a few camp activities.

c. When you campout, make sure that your children fully understand the essence of an outdoor experience. When taking them out, make sure that each experience will make them familiar with the outdoors so they will be at ease during the night. Try to help them get rid of their fears related to camping out. Teach them well about respecting and preserving nature. Make sure that they are also fully equipped with the necessary outdoor skills and ethics needed in adapting to wildlife and interacting with other campers. Never forget to teach them first aid practices.

d. Plan activities and chores that are suitable for children. When you camp out, make sure that you assign actual camp chores for each of your children. Match their responsibilities with their age and their physical capabilities. Among the most common chores that you can assign are collecting firewood, helping your prepare the food and snacks, helping you set up the tent by hammering tent stacks, filling the water containers, picking fruits, and others.

However, whenever you assign tasks, make the chores fun and engaging. Turn the simple activities into contests and give corresponding awards. After being rained out a few weeks ago, Carolyn was determined to go no matter what. The forecast called for rain — but only 0.1 inch during the day. Carolyn was pissed. After much convincing, we ended up below our six-person quorum, but still had a good crowd, with Tabbitha, Eli, Carolyn, Clint, and even Evan! Good times.

Unfortunately, it did rain on us. Eli set up Carolyn’s small tarp with some help from Evan and Carolyn, and we spent a good amount of time huddled underneath it. But this was only at night time. And it didn’t rain hard — you could go potty without an umbrella and stay relatively dry. Eventually we all realized we couldn’t keep our eyes open. We made a pact to take a 1-hour nap, and we all went to our separate tents. When Carolyn woke up several hours later, she heard the rain was still at it, and decided not to try to wake anyone up. Tabbitha apparently got up really early and somehow got soaked. She was mostly dry by the time everyone else woke up.

Thus, most of our pictures are from the next day. The next day was dry, beautiful, and we spent quite some time (8:30AM-2PMish) there. In the end, we were there for 27 hours, and only awake and being rained on for about 4 of them. It wasn’t the end of the world — We ate like kings and had more fun than if we’d stayed in!

Fun Camping Activities for Kids

Your browser does not support iframes.

How to Plan Your Camping Trip

You may be wondering about all the preparation you need to do before going on a camping trip, whether or not it is all deserving? With a simple strategy, you can complete your camping plans with self-assurance that your vacation can be a fun and productive one.

Before You Head Out On Your Camping Trip

Basically, you will want to find a camping area, buy camping supplies and equipment, determine on what activities you desire to do, and maintain within a realistic budget. Plan your reservation well in advance if your going to a state or provincial park. In some cases you’ll need months in advance to secure a good spot.

Foremost, you should make up your mind how you desire to camp. Take into consideration on what kind of sleeping setting you would like. For example, do you prefer sleeping in a recreational vehicle, (RV), or inside a pitched tent?

Most people with families, tend to go for renting an RV, since this vehicle will comfortably accommodate six people. With a RV you can easy to travel down the road from one campsite to another if needed. Families may find the handy kitchen, bathroom and storage space for suitcases more pleasant to live in. There are less insects, no setting up a tent or cooking fires to build, except of course for something special, such as marshmallows.

Is It Great Outdoors

There are some people who choose to be closer to nature and the outdoors. Therefore, setting up a tent and starting a fire provides a better experience for all campers. Also cooking over a camp fire along with the folk tales will be a fun experience.

It is beneficial to buy a tent large enough to hold all of your fellow campers and their possessions. Tents are made in many different styles, shapes and sizes. Some have screened shelter and split rooms. Even with these extra features, the tents are effortless to set up and care for.

Do You Plan To Stay In a Cabin

If staying in a tent is not your style, nor is the use of an RV, then there are always cabins to pick from. By renting a cabin, you will also be able to enjoy the natural outdoor camping area, while having all the comforts of home.

Across the state in many wilderness areas with nearby mountains and lakes, cabins can give you peace and quiet. Even though your cabin comes with a fireplace included, you have the choice to make a campground fire outside, without the sitting comfort by your fireplace.

Plan Your Camping Activities

Camping trip are often combined with a variety of different activities such as fishing, hiking, campfire, canoeing, swimming, mountain biking, mountain climbing and kayaking. These activities are a perfect way to teach your children survival techniques or things like map reading. Camping activities are important for kids, it is essential to keep them active. The activities are designed for fun and for building great family memories.

Whether it is an RV, a pitched tent, or inside a cabin, remaining outdoors and being able to soak in the beauty and sounds of nature. Making all your camping plans before you start of your trip are will be worth your time and consideration. Camping can without a doubt be your most enjoyable experience for your whole family. Safe camping to you and yours!

I need activity ideas for camping in someone’s yard? is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

Q&A: Need some activity ideas for a couple’s camping trip.?

Camping Fun Sticker Activity Book (Dover Little Activity Books) Reviews

what are the best camping activity for the youths?

Q&A: Ideas for activities with children on a camping trip?

Camping Activities

Question by jessicer08. They will surely be so excited about the whole thing. Instead of pushing them to experience camping in parks or campsites far away from home, let them have their first taste of this kind of outdoor activity right in your own backyard. They would not be spooked by the idea of camping because they are in a familiar place. You can start by bringing out your outdoor camping tents and let them help you put it up.

Next, you can even make a pretend campfire by using Coleman camping equipment. They have this easy to use RoadTrip™ Pack-Away Portable Fireplace and Grill that can serve as an outdoor fireplace and a grill at the same time. It is also a great way to introduce making s’mores while telling them funny stories. It is also the perfect time to introduce night sounds to them especially the hooting of the owls. They may not hear them but discussing it with them during this backyard camping will somehow allay some of their fears. If you can make them understand that they are natural sounds, they will be somehow forewarned about it and will not freak out when the time comes that you bring them over to a real campsite.

Before the actual backyard camping activity, make sure you check your outdoor camping tents. It will be too bad if there are bugs crawling inside it when your kids are trying to sleep. It has to be in a great working condition so you can efficiently encourage your kids about the joy in camping. It is even better if you use Coleman camping equipment for the activity. They are not only durable but also easy-to-use. You had also better prepare them for the nightly bathroom visits. You need to discuss with them that they should not go anywhere without waking you up. It will also be great if you can convince them not to drink for an hour before sleeping time.

Camping also means playing many outdoor games and it will not take a long time for them to be convinced that it is one great activity that the family can do together. You can also discuss to them how to stay quiet during evenings so as not to disturb other people. You can do this activity several times before embarking in an outdoor camping far away from the comforts of your own home. However, make sure that your child is ready for it. After using Coleman camping equipment such as the RoadTrip™ Pack-Away Portable Fireplace and Grill to serve as your mockup campfire on the first night, try introducing how to build a real campfire to your kids on the next day.
Talk to them about the danger that an uncontrollable fire can do to people and things. Teach them the do’s and the don’ts of campfire building. Guide them on how to do it but make sure that they understand that they still need adult supervision when they build one. When they sleep at night, make sure you have a lantern in handy so you can easily give light just in case your kids want them. Just make sure that they are battery-operated and they are safe to use inside the tent.

Q&A: Ideas for activities with children on a camping trip? is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

6 Super In-Tent Activities For Your Children

Tips for Planning a Camping Trip With Young Children

Q&A: Need some activity ideas for a couple’s camping trip.?

Camping Basics For Beginners

Camping Activities

Camping Basics For Beginners Perhaps, the only camping memories you have is when you are a kid. It’s time to revive back the experience. Some of the camping activities may be done within the neighborhood. While this kind of camping can be enjoyable, it is not as adventurous as the distant camping in the open field. However, beginners are advised to starting the camping activity when close to home.

The ground on which you plan on camping on is what determines the whole camping experience. Wrong choice of camping ground can lead to frustrations which will later on ruin the whole activity. The most appropriate camping ground should be able to offer a suitable environment for all the people who are engaged in the activity. For example, if some members of the team do not know how to swim, the location should not be close to a big river, lake or stream especially when you are not accompanied with camping guides or you are not ready to train them to swim.

When planning on going out camping, certain items should never be forgotten. The first thing that you will need is a tent. For the starters, it is advised to take a moderately priced tent which can accommodate all the people in it. There are many brands available today and all that you need to do is select the right size for the group. It is advised that you try to set up the tent in the backyard before the set day. This will help avert frustrations of carrying a damaged tent for camping. You can even sleep inside it overnight to test the experience.

The sleeping bags, air mattresses and pillows are other items that should never be forgotten. These are the materials that determine the comfort that you get during the camping activity. Using the regular mattress will not help. It seeps water fast and will lead to discomfort during the activity. The bedding should be tested before the camping day as well.

A matchbox is an important item that should also never be forgotten. In most campgrounds, firewood is often offered but not the matches. This will help set up a camp fire which can be used when telling camp stories or singing. Some papers should also be carried to help light the fire. Finally, try to make the activity as simple as possible. You can carry some food with you rather than cooking it over the fire. This will help avoid possible frustrations and upsets.

Question by majstikleo.
I am putting together ideas for a summer camp for kids we have theme days: Mexico, Italy, Hawaii, France, USA. I am looking for activities that kids of all ages and all abilities (i.e. handicaped) can do. Also any suggestions for menu’s, decorations would be appreacited too. Thanks.

Best answer:

Answer by kjjr1505
I actually co-run a kids camp and one of our week sessions is Around the World in Just 5 Days. Some of our activities include the kids making their own pizza (very easy, just buy pre-made dough, pizza sauce, cheese and/or pepperoni), making a paper mache paper bag pinata for the kids to break on Friday, making grass skirts using streamers and masking tape and teaching them a simple hula. These are just some ideas that have been successful in previous years. Hope it helps and have fun!

Know better? There are 2 benefits in this, firstly, you are on a vacation with your kids spending quality time together and at the same time able to educate your children or even yourself about permanent weight loss. Your family can thus live a healthy lifestyle and avoid the dangers of obesity diseases.

Every year, millions of children around the world leave home in search of exciting camping adventures. In America alone, a conservatively estimated 8.2 million children and teens went camping every summer.

In a national survey of more than 2,000 camps, camp directors reported that parents rated the three most important benefits for sending their children to camps. These factors are:-

a)increase self-confidence for the kids

b)to make new friends

c)for children to have fun from educational and wholesome activities

“Summer camp is more than a vacation for children,” says Bruce Muchnick, a licensed psychologist specializing in child and adolescent development. “At the camps, children and teens learn to appreciate the outdoors, develop companionship and pick up skills that enhance self-reliance, cooperation and interdependence. These skills will remain with them throughout childhood and into adulthood.” That is a very way to develop skills for your children isn’t it?

So if you are sending your children camping, why not send them to weight loss camps if they are obese and learn healthy lifestyle skills and at the same time to let them enjoy themselves.

Weight loss camps can change your child’s life

We all know that bad habits become too internalized to modify without major psychological and physical effort, thus spending a summer vacation in camps that specializes weight loss can make a huge difference in the lives of your overweight children.

Often, fat kids and teenagers get caught up in a vicious cycle since their social lives become more marginalized as their weight keep adding up. Some children will avoid overweight kids and even taunt and bully them. So overweight children seldom participate in social activities because they are unfit or ostracized and self-consciousness about their overweight appearance and this will lead to less physical activity. Since these children are less active, then the tendency to put on weight is even greater.

When an overweight child has normal weight siblings the stress on them will become even more unbearable. There will comparisons made on them which is a very traumatic and depressive for the child. This can lead to terrible permanent emotional scars.

At a good weight loss camp, children will be left out of any activities. The camps are usually structured in such a way so that everyone has to join in its fun programs and social activities. Since these fat kids usually opt out of activities, their choice should be between camp activities, not whether they join in or not.

Children will be exposed to many sports and taught athletic skills in a non-competitive environment. There will also be enrichment programs arts & crafts, confidence building and team building to help them integrate into the society. They will also be taught how to choose healthy and balanced meals and nutritional facts. The benefits from a vacation at a weight loss camp will last a lifetime.

So, will you be sending your overweight children to a weight loss camp vacation this summer?

Question by Laurenzo.
I work for a day camp that works with kids with mental and physical disabilities. I am a camp counselor and in charge of keeping the kids entertained when we are not doing camp activities. We were told at the training that each activity should be no longer than 15 minutes. I have spent hours and hours coming up with ideas and crafts, but only about three weeks worth of activity and camp is six weeks long. If you have any activities or crafts I would be oh so grateful.

Best answer:

Answer by J.S.
There are lots of activities on this site. Hopefully you can find ones that would work, or you can adapt.

http://www.creativekidsathome.com/activities.shtml

Have you thought of any simple food activities, like decorating cookies?

For students who are able (if you have space), you could have physical activities such as relay racing, obstacle course, etc.

You could play parachute games.

Bubbles are fun to use, and there are recipes to make them.

You can have story time.

You could sing songs together, especially interactive ones where they join in.

If they are young enough to like it, you could have a teddy bear’s picnic.

You could have some kind of theme, like “Oceans” and do crafts and activities around that. Decorate the space so it looks like an ocean (or forest, or desert, or island, or whatever).

Hope these help.

Add your own answer in the comments!

Powered by Yahoo Answers

Summer camp activities

Can someone please explain this to me

Fishing In A Brook: Angling Activities for Kids (Acitvities for Kids)

Children’s activity book that teaches fishing skills in a fun, interesting way.

Your browser does not support iframes.

List Price: $ 4.99

Eagle’s Nest Camp – Pisgah Forest, NC

Click for complete program information, videos, session dates, testimonials and more: www.choicecamps.com Eagles Nest Camp in the Blue Mountains of North Carolina teaches campers what it means to belong to friends, to society, to nature, and to history. I am wondering if that seems OK to do, and what kinds of precautions should I take. Also is it OK to be on a motor boat at this time during a twin pregnancy. What kinds of camping activities would be OK and what kinds wouldn’t? Any advice on this matter would be helpful and appreciated. I want to go, I want to have fun and I want to be safe. We would be camping in a tent.

Best answer:

Answer by ?*Honest Mama*?
You should ask your doctor before camping and deffinately going on a motor boat.

Give your answer to this question below!

Powered by Yahoo Answers

Weight Loss Camps Over Fat Camps: Taking The Fun Way To Slim Down

When we hear the word obesity, the words that often spring to mind are those of ugly or more obviously, fat. These are then followed by thoughts pertaining to negative social status. It is a reality that we usually associate obesity with the hindrance to socialization, as it negatively affects physical appearance. We tend to put aside the bigger and more important aspect of obesity we should concern ourselves about: it risks health.

The very fact that it endangers health should spur us to determine ways with which we may lose weight. It is not merely a matter of making ourselves look more socially acceptable, but of making ourselves healthier.

Not knowing how to go about the task of losing weight is a common problem for most people. We could not really know form sure what diet would work best for us, or what activities we ought to undergo. This problem can be solved by enrolling into summer weight loss camps.

There are weight loss camps for every gender and age group. Nowadays, these camps offer fun programs that can prove to be both enjoyable and rewarding in terms of losing weight.

Weight loss camps over fat camps

Weight loss camps have a friendlier outlook towards losing weight than fat camps. Fat camps follow a stricter and narrower undertaking for losing weight, and this is probably the main reason why they can be boring, rigid and even scary for some.

Weight loss camps, on the other hand, offer a more varied and open regimen for weight loss, because their goal is to pave the way for enrollees to find that particular weight loss program or plan that will suit them best. Unlike with fat camps, weight loss camps can be fun, and more so because they offer a variety of activities best suited for your inclinations.

Camp location and activities

A peaceful and stress free aura that is the aim of most weight loss camps in terms of camp location and environment. This is to enable enrollees to focus on the main thing they are aiming for weight loss. So you would probably find yourself spending the summer on a quiet beach or a mountain

Camp activities for teens can include outdoor activities and games that would help keep them from thinking of weight loss as a task, but rather of it merely a rewarding output of partaking in fun activities.

For adults, particularly women, activities would verge more on relaxation activities, like aerobics classes. This will help veer their minds away from the stress of everyday life yet lose weight at the same time.

Enrolling in a weight loss camp can be a win win endeavor. It allows you to lose weight in order to emerge healthier, and makes weight loss a fun undertaking.

Ropes Course activity at Camp High Rocks Summer Camp for Boys

<object width="425" I am wondering if that seems OK to do, and what kinds of precautions should I take.

Answer by Kristi K
I would not go if i were you. but at the same time, it may be the last time for a while that you get to enjoy some recreational activities before the babies arrive. The motor boat might be too bumpy and it may cause your water to break. Also, at the end of pregnancy, it gets to be very, very hard to sleep even in a bed. You will be up peeing in the night a couple of times, and that sucks when you’re camping. Also, if you end up going, bring an air mattress or whatever is the very most comfortable thing you have to sleep on.

Know better? An Economical and Eco-Friendly Alternative for Your Next Family Vacation

With the skyrocketing prices of gas and food, many families simply cannot afford to hop on a plane and head to an exotic locale for their yearly family vacation anymore. However, don’t let the economic downturn ruin your plans to have a family vacation this year. One of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to have a family vacation on a budget is to go camping.

There are a variety of campgrounds across the US so you don’t have to go very far to enjoy a unique camping adventure. Because you won’t have to travel a long way, you will save on gas and thus help to preserve our environment. For an eco-friendly vacation that is equally friendly on your pocket book, go camping for your next family vacation. Whether you want to head to a campground in an RV, stay in a cabin, or pitch a tent, there are numerous activities you and your family can enjoy in the wild.

Activities Families Can Enjoy on a Camping Trip

When you go camping there are activities appropriate for family members of all ages. Some common activities associated with camping include: golfing, hunting, fishing, canoeing, swimming, kayaking, biking, river rafting, hiking, caving, and bathing in hot springs. Many campgrounds also have activities especially for children. Whether you want to relax and read a book by the waterside or enjoy adventurous activities and get some exercise, you’ll find plenty of activities to keep you entertained on a camping trip. Also, don’t forget the classic camping activities such as telling stories around the campfire and making s’mores.

Accommodation Options

If you’d like to enjoy the conveniences you have back at home on your camping trip, consider renting a cabin or traveling in an RV. Approximately seven million Americans now own RVs, making them a popular vacation option. Camping out in an RV or staying in a cabin is certainly a more comfortable option but if you are on a tight budget, consider pitching a tent. All you need to go tent camping are tents, sleeping bags, and other basic supplies.

If you have never been tent camping and you have young children, consider trying it out for a night in your own backyard first to get everyone used to it.

Food on a Camping Trip

When you go camping, one of the areas you save the most money in is food. You typically won’t spend any more money than you would if you stayed at home. If you have an RV you can prepare all of your food in its kitchenette but if you are traveling by car, you may need to take a camping stove and other supplies with you, depending on what facilities are available at your campground. It’s a good idea to take all of the food you think you’ll need so you don’t have to spend your vacation at the super market. Plus there may not be much available near your campground.

In conclusion, it’s possible to have a fun-filled family vacation without breaking the bank. There’s no need to travel halfway across the world to give your family a vacation to remember when you can take a local camping trip and have a blast. Go to a campground close to natural attractions so you can enjoy all that nature has to offer while saving money on food, activities, and accommodations.

SCOA Camp indoor activity

Video Rating: 5 / 5

What do you think about camping while pregnant with twins in the 3rd trimester? is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

Fun lakefront family vacations

My daughter (7yrs) wants an indoor camping party, with tents, smores etc. What activites can we do ?

Camping Activities

Question by yoquieroleer. Every year, thousands of girls either dread or look forward to attending several days or several weeks at a girl’s summer camp. For most, girls camps mean fun in the sun, laughs and new friends. Many girls spend weeks looking forward to camp activities and events, while others aren’t so sure.

Girls camps offer a multitude of activities to suit nearly every taste, but most offer summer activities like swimming, horseback riding, water skiing, rock climbing, arts and crafts and drama, just to name a few.

Depending on the wants and needs of large groups of girls in different parts of the country, girls camps also offer canoeing, river rafting, hiking or even fashion events. The sky is the limit when it comes to ideas, and camp counselors do their best to make sure that everyone has fun during their camp stay.

Girls camps offer young women between the age of seven and eighteen an opportunity to grow and learn new things, meet new people and grow in understanding. Most girls camps offer stay periods of two weeks to seven weeks, sometimes more depending on the time of year and the demand for turnaround.

Some camps are large, and can accommodate over a hundred girls, while others accommodate only a few dozen. Food and lodging are usually top notch, and cabins that hold anywhere from four to eight girls are to be expected, though larger cabins and dorm style shelters may also be available for large groups.

Some camps are located in the mountains, while others are located near a beach or anywhere in between. Depending on location, girls are offered a wide variety of classes and activities to keep their days, and many of their evenings, busy. Girls camps have come a long way since the 1940′s, and today’s camps offer the amenities that girls have grown accustomed to, like television, video games and arcade games.

Outdoor recreation activities include everything from tennis and volleyball to horseshoes and shuffleboard. In some areas of the country, many girls take care of animals while at camp. Horses, dogs, cats, birds and many other different kinds of animals teach kids what it’s like to take care of and nurture another living creature, and these camps are especially liked by young girls around the country.

While the food in some girls camps isn’t your mother’s cooking, and your bed may not be as soft as your bed at home, girl’s camps offer youngsters an opportunity to experience new people and situations. Confidence is one of the first changes that most parents see in their girls when they return home, that and a certain sense of self-sufficiency.

Camps offer more than glorified babysitting to today’s kids. They offer instructional activities and situations that encourage girls to explore their surroundings and their own feelings and beliefs, not only about themselves, but others as well. Girl’s camps are still as popular as they were several generations ago, which is a very good thing.

Camp Crestridge Cherokee Activity

A little glimpse into a Cherokee village activity
Video Rating: 5 / 5

My daughter (7yrs) wants an indoor camping party, with tents, smores etc. What activites can we do ? is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun At Girls Camps

Great Alternative to the Traditional Vacation: Girls Camps

Adventure Summer Camps – Tips For Finding The Best Ones

West Coast Trail Images no. 9 – Tsusiat Falls Camp Activity – time lapse

Camping Activities

West Coast Trail Images no. 9 – Tsusiat Falls Camp Activity – time lapse This video shows the activity around Tsusiat Falls, one of the most popular spots to camp at on the West coast Trail. Or, something with an ant farm?

Add your own answer in the comments!

Powered by Yahoo Answers

Serious camping activities

hmmm, what next, more leisure or more eating

Waterproof Snap Watch Small 6.5″ (Assorted Colors) By Hog Wild (Sold Individually)

Go-Anywhere with Watch Real 4mm Climbing Rope Bands

2 Year Worry-Free No-Hassle Warranty (SOLD INDIVIDUALLY)

New and Improved Waterproof

Snap watch is waterproof so you can swim, sail, or ski without fear of breaking an expensive watch.

Perfect for ALL sporting activities!!!

Snap watch is waterproof so you can swim, sail, ski, etc. without fear of breaking or losing an expensive watch. For them, summer camp is an escape from reality and they get to do activities that they do not usually do with their families because of lack of time or lack of resources. They can do horseback riding, camping, hiking, skiing, rowing, archery and a whole lot more, and they can do these activities as much as they want every day of the week in these summer camps.

However, the single most important key to having a great summer camp experience is safety, and is the one thing that should never be forgotten while in these summer camps. All the fun and great experiences one would gain in these camps will be negated if safety rules and practices are not followed, so it would be best to take heed of these safety tips.

Basic Safety Tips for Summer Camps

The following safety tips should be followed while in a summer camp. You can also apply these tips anywhere even outside of a summer camp and while at home.

* Wear a helmet for any hazardous activity while at summer camp. Wearing a helmet while engaged in summer camp activities like riding a scooter or a bike, horseback riding, skateboarding, and any other similar outdoor activities is critical to maintain personal safety. Studies have shown that the simple act of wearing a helmet can reduce the risk for injuries by a considerable amount.

* Summer camps usually involve activities in swimming pools and this is a dangerous place for children if left unattended. These pools should have pool alarms or door alarms to prevent unsupervised entry by children.

* Outdoor grilling is a favorite at summer camps and it is a safety precaution to maintain these grills outside and avoid operating them in an enclosed area. Grills in an indoor location are a fire hazard issue and can cause harmful fumes.

* Playgrounds should have a fall safe area under a swing set, slide or a jungle gym to prevent any nasty falls, which can result to breaks. Trampolines are another area in summer camps that needs added protection with shock absorbing mats. It would also be a good practice to allow only one person at a time.

* Windows are common areas where falls occur, whether in a summer camp or at home. Ensure that windows are equipped with safety latches, particularly those located on higher floors.

Summer camps are filled with fun activities that most children cherish; however, safety should be followed first at all times.

West Coast Trail Images no. 9 – Tsusiat Falls Camp Activity – time lapse is a post from: Camping Gear Corner

Related posts:

KBLU Activity of the Day TUES July 27, 2010 Cal Blue Camp

What was your favorite summer camp activity?

Q&A: Need some activity ideas for a couple’s camping trip.?
