There are still many places in the United States, known as “fee mining sites,” where gem prospectors can search for tourmaline, peridot, and other semi-precious gems. Since getting out in the great outdoors appeals to both prospectors and RV campers, why not combine both passions for the best vacation ever?

Gemstone Hunting RV Camping Ideas in CaliforniaThere are so many possibilities for mining gem-rich ore in California, it deserves a section all to itself. A popular stop for gem lovers hoping to find green or pink California tourmaline is the world famous Himalaya Mine near Santa Ysabel in San Diego County. Prospectors can purchase buckets of gem ore to screen onsite with equipment furnished by the Mine. Lake Henshaw Resort, adjacent to the Mine, is a beautiful site for RV camping, lake fishing and plenty of hiking in the foothills of the Palomar Mountains.

Another real gem for RV camping prospectors is found right in the same county! Oceanview Mine in Pala, California charges a set fee that allows gem hunters to screen fresh, unprospected mine tailings all day long. Recent visitor finds include aquamarine and many colors of tourmaline.

About two hours southwest of Fresno, screen for benitoite, California’s state gem. The California State Gem Mine near Coalinga is open most weekends to prospectors. Dry camp your RV at nearby Los Gatos Creek County Park and spend the day sifting mine tailings near where a fabulous 34 carat rough benitoite was recently found!

More Gem Hunting RV Camping Ideas – NevadaNevada has also been the site of fabulous gemstone finds, and the Garnet Hill Recreation Area near Ely is very popular with prospectors. Search two square miles of public land for likely garnet-containing specimens, and be sure to bring your rock hammer for breaking them! Camp just fifteen miles away at Cave Lake State Park, or really relish this remote region with a visit to Great Basin National Park, sixty miles east at the Utah/Nevada border. Rainbow Ridge Opal Mine, has yielded gorgeous specimens. You can also search mine tailings for black opals or “fire opals,” at the Bonanza Opal Mine in the Valley. A large, free campsite without hookups can be found at Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge near the Bonanza Mine.

Gem Hunting for RV Campers – North Carolina and GeorgiaA perennial family favorite in the Eastern US is Gem Mountain in Spruce Mountain, North Carolina. Located along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway in the area known as “Little Switzerland,” this family destination offers mine tours and the chance to screen for Crabtree Emeralds and Brushy Creek Aquamarines. Park your RV nearby at the Bear Den in Mount Pisgah National Forest.

For a truly Southern gem prospecting adventure, join the owner of the Hogg Mine near LaGrange, Georgia most Saturday mornings for a day of surface fee mining for aquamarine beryls, tourmaline crystals and literally boulders full of rose quartz!

Gem Hunting RV Adventures – ConnecticutFor a fantastic northeastern gem hunting experience, plan some motorhome camping time in Connecticut. There are numerous old and currently operating mine sites that allow prospecting.

If you choose Connecticut for your next RV camping and prospecting trip, definitely do some research on the Roxbury Falls area, where some of the world’s best almandine garnets have been mined. Start at Green’s Farm Garnet Mine near Roxbury. This former mine site still yields deep red garnets.

Fitness Boot Camps 101…. A Three Step Plan

In today’s market place you not just need to be creative but you also need to be in a position to deliver. As a fitness pro, if you have spent any time researching paths to increase the profits you generate from your business, you know that boot camps are a good way to do just that.

Running a fitness boot camp makes it simple to :

* Book multiple clients at the same time, accelerating your productivity
* Train folk with tiny or no kit
* Set everything up without having your own gym or studio
* Work with big groups of people all at once
* Earn more earnings an hour without doing more work

Folks are swarming to these boot camps because they are fun, effective, and convenient. Health club owners are missing out on a huge quantity of income.

And since you can perform fitness boot camps at local parks, playgrounds, or perhaps in your own yard, there’s no real need for a gym membership – or any overhead costs for you. That means the average joe private trainer can suck up big quantity of business with just a few straightforward adverts. This leaves you Joe fitness center owner with less clients, less money and more fears.

So let go over a few thing to consider before just hopping into doing boot camps, then I am going to help you get the ball rolling.

(Step One)
Ask why?The first question to ask yourself is what are your long term goal is in regards to your private training profits center. If your not manufacturing at least 25% of your club money in some kind of private training, boot camps, weight loss, etc then you not running a successful club. Now you may be saying “wait, I am not making that kind of cash on PT but I am doing ok.” I’ll just say that different folk may have different standards for success.

If your goal is to maximize your profits and scale back your workload then boot camps are good way to do just that. So what’s a fitness boot camp? The term “boot camp” just means enormous group training. A boot camp will ideally have 10-20 clients. Sessions will last 60-90 mins. The cost should be between 5-9. We all know that one on one PT sessions are a waste of time. Sure if a client wants to pay you .00 per 1 hour sessions take the money, but your private training profit center will never grow if you are still thinking old school.

(Step 2)
Location. This is the most vital choice considering the amount of FREE referral promoting you can get, not to mention social evidence for the program. Locations like parking lots ( in front of your club ), parks, group fitness room ( aerobics room ) function as a great areas, as there is a guarantee of lots of foot traffic passing your way that will definitely have an interest in your product. (Step Three)
Promoting. I cannot revile our entire selling program for boot camps but I’m going to tell you the most valuable some of it. This alone can fill your boot camp in 1 month.
The Human billboard. Never underestimate the power of the human mouth! People love to talk, around the water cooler, on the golf course, in your wellbeing club, on the loo. So how can you capitalize on our bad practice of gossiping? Give away a free month by month pass to a client and two t-shirts with your boot camp theme logo so as long as they promise to do 3 things ;

* They can’t tell anyone that you gave it to them free.

* They will not be an energy hog. When they come to boot camp they need to bring it! No complaining about being knackered.

* They need to referrer 1 person a month. This is so simple and if you want a few folks to get the 10 member minimum the “human billboards” can fill the opening.

* They need to wear the t-shirt to every class.

* They have to give 1 positive video testimonial, you tube video comment and blog comment every month. ( This is a component of bigger marketing plan that we offer to our promoting clients )

Charge them nothing. So long as you’ve got an incredible program ready, word will be traveling fast. This is also a way to get some feedback on your product and make any last minute adjustments needed. ( Hitting 2 birds with 1 stone )

And now here’s a unique promo idea to run in the slow days of summer. Most fitness info marketers “give up” during July and Aug, believing that everyone is on vacations and nobody will obtain workout programs over the summer. Well, I don’t agree with that way of thinking.

In this era, most Americans seldom use all of their vacations anyhow – not the average worker even gets that many days off.

You can promote all sorts of things in the summer…such as a promo before or after you go on your own summer vacation, or just a “Summer Break” sale for people that have got away from their workouts and spending too much time on the patio and need some inducement to get back on track.

And finally, you can run a Back to school / End of Summer / labor Day promotion to get folks back to your camps after a summer away from boot camp workouts. Last year, I had tons of fun with a funny email I sent out the day after Labor Day. This touch of humor tied up with the holiday led on to a great day of sales. There was no special promotion, just the good use of tying in a vacation to regular communication with my list.

September is the third busiest time of the year for boot camp workouts, and I’ll be preparing a special set of vacation fitness boot camp promotion ideas for that time of the year soon!

if you want awesome rock formations, bruce penninsula national park and georgian bay islands national parks are great. alonquin provincial park is also good if you want lakes. if you are looking for mountains, adirondack park in new york is good. if you have the time, it is DEFINITLY worth it to go up to pukaskwa, though. that is the northern shore of lake superior.

That is such a fun idea!! I have done soo many backyard camp outs and in my experience you don’t need alot! since you have the tent just ask your friends to all bring there own sleeping bag or blankets w.e they feel comfortable sleeping on. than get some snacks, w.e you like and your friends like. Same goes for music just make a play list of yours and your friends favorite songs and let it play a camp fire is great tell all your friends to learn some camp songs and be ready to teach everyone else it will make it more interesting other than that all you need is the people. play games like truth or dare, 2 truths and a lie ect…
in my experience the best party’s are the ones that aren’t too planed and you can all just do what you want

Even tough the idea of camping cooking sounds unusual but it can be one of the most interesting, intriguing and involving camping activities. It’s about creating and developing flavours colours and textures with the least as possible. The cooking supplies and raw food can be taken on big heat keeper cases. Rice, pasta, bread, are all followers to incredible raw dishes made from two lightened fires and great touches of creativity.

Most organizations provide young basketball players with the highest level of coaching, elite competition, and allow each athlete to develop a sense of pride and accomplishment. The idea is determined to create an unmatched basketball atmosphere.

The passion for basketball has led to the development of a small industry around the game. Stores market basketball merchandise like shoes, jerseys, logos and other knickknacks while colleges run basketball camps for beginners. They rope in former basketball players and coaches to run the college basketball camp.

These camps are not limited to college students. Anyone can apply and get admission to the basketball camps. Several colleges organize residential basketball camps while others encourage students to come during daytime only.

However, there is little doubt about the popularity of these camps. There are a large number of wannabe basketball stars that want to learn basketball from ex-NBA players and coaches. Colleges advertise these camps liberally in newspapers and on websites.

The fees of these camps depend upon the duration and the coach. Star coaches can help the colleges set a high fee. Normally, the fee for a one-week residential camp is around 0 while that of a day camp is around 0 to 150.

Most of these camps are held during summers or vacation time so that students can join them without disturbing their academic routine. The camp dates are announced in advance so that students can enroll in time.

Almost all colleges take these camps very seriously. The students are put through the grind. The idea is to make the students learn as much as possible at these camps. The colleges are also concerned that if they don’t put pressure then the future camps will not attract students.

However, the success of the camp rests solely on the coach. Colleges can expect great response if they have been able to get a big name. The response for unknown coaches is rarely satisfactory.

The camps are a good source of revenue for the colleges because their investment is limited to the fees paid to the coach. They don’t have to invest in a basketball court or on lodgings. Al these are already present in most colleges. What’s more these camps become a useful revenue source during the lean months.

Teen boot camps are correctional programs for delinquent youth in a military-style environment. These programs typically emphasize discipline and physical conditioning and were developed as a rigorous alternative to longer terms of confinement in juvenile correctional facilities. Many, but not all, of these programs are followed by a period of probation or some form of aftercare. Boot camps are generally restricted to non-violent or first-time offenders.

The idea of “shock incarceration” as a tough, low-cost alternative to more intensive programming brought about the establishment of military-style boot camps for troubled teens.

Are Boot Camps Effective? Experts agree that a confrontational approach is often inappropriate. Most correctional and military experts agree that a confrontational model, employing tactics of intimidation and humiliation, is counterproductive for most troubled teens. The use of this kind of model has led to disturbing incidents of abuse. For youth with emotional, behavioral, or learning problems, degrading tactics may be particularly inappropriate and potentially damaging. The bullying style and aggressive interactions that characterize the boot camp environment fail to model the pro-social behavior and development of empathy that these youth really need to learn.

Positive changes demonstrated while in the boot camp may not last when a youth returns to his community. Many juveniles report that the program is helpful to them and they feel more positive about their futures. It is unclear, however, whether these attitudes persist after youth leave the boot camp, or whether they are related to actual changes in behavior once a youth returns to his community. Without significant therapeutic intervention while in the program, as well as specialized aftercare following release, boot camp programs have been consistently unsuccessful in “changing” juveniles.

What are the alternatives? Youth who need some form of treatment care require an individualized approach that takes their strengths and needs into account. Programs and policies should be family-centered, including the family in all decision making about a child, as well as culturally and developmentally appropriate. Research has shown that small, family-centered programs are more effective than boot camps in the long term.

Since you have cooler. Pack your marinated chicken, pork, and beef (separately) in a zip lock bag and stick them in the Freezer. Do the same with Hotdogs.

I like my bbq sweet and a little spicy.

if you have flowers in that garden, try a tropical scene. buy flower necklaces for everyone serve pineapple or madirean oranges.
lemonade is good. if it’s really hot out and you have a pool go swimming. put ice cubes in the water! go bobbing for oranges. to make palm trees have a long tube wraped with brown papper. cut out leaves. happy birthday!

My family and I are going on vacation, but are wanting to camp most of the time. We want nice campgrounds that are inexpensive…like say $ 14 a night or maybe just slightly more. We need to find these campgrounds and reserve very quickly. We leave for vacation Sept. 4th. Does anyone have ANY ideas on where we could camp? Take into consideration that flushing toilets or shower facilities would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone who has ever camped in either of these two places, could help me out here, I would be grateful!!!

I can give you information about Yellowstone. You will not find anything with full hook ups in that price range. There are National Forest Camp Grounds around the park that are cheap, but no hook ups and pit toilets at most.

You can stay in the park for about $ 18.50 a night. No hook ups but there are nice restrooms with running water (cold, not hot) and flush toilets. There are also pay showers available at some of them. It’s about $ 3.50 a shower depending on if you need a towel.

Some of the campgroundsare starting to close. You should have no trouble finding a spot. We like Canyon Campground because it is centrally located in the park but it closes Sept. 7th. Others that take reservations are Grant Village, Bridge Bay (no showers), Madison (no showers), Fishing Bridge (Big RVs only), and Mammoth (no showers). Just dress warm because temps drop to the 30s and 40s at night.

The park is starting to slow down for the season, so some of the stores and facilities are closed or closing this week and next. You need to go to http://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/open_closedates.htm#september and check on your dates. Might be best to go to Yellowstone first.

The best town for camping is West Yellowstone. It’s right at the West Entrance to the park. Check out some of their campgrounds at http://www.westyellowstonechamber.com/sleep/rv-campground/

Camping tips: Where to set up camp

Want to find the perfect spot for setting up camp? Here are a few great ideas to help you find a good spot to set up your camping tents.

You want to start off by finding level ground. No one wants to sleep on an uneven surface! It’s always a good idea to find this flat spot relatively high up and not too close to trees. The tree roots would not be a good place to lie on. Make sure there are no large stones either.

Thank goodness the branches were not huge. This could have been a real problem.

All over the world there are people who religiously go on camping and enjoy themselves but once in a while we hear a few horror stories which makes one want to avoid camping. These horror stories are from those people who are amateurs or from those who have failed to properly plan their trip. A camper has to plan a trip very cautiously and carefully. The tips provided here are for the beginners and have to be followed to enjoy a camping trip. The preparation may seem to be tedious and tiring but are a must, so as to enjoy the camping trip to the maximum.

Camping is one activity in which is enjoyed by the whole family. Theoretically speaking camping means being in a tent and not staying at some hotel, also it’s cheaper this way. As the camping tent has to be bought once and can be used for any future trips. The first step is to keep all the camping gear in order. Start keeping the required stuff for the trip at one place and keep the adding them as you remember them. The most important equipments are the camping tents, camping lanterns, camp stove and sleeping bags. The tent you buy should be a strong waterproof one. If you are using a tent for the first time it is advisable to try the putting together and the technicalities of it beforehand. Insulated sleeping bags are advisable as they can be used both in winters and summers.

Camping lanterns and camp stoves are another must buy. Grills are often provided at camp sites and hence leave them if they are provided at the camp site. The car which one will be using should have enough space for all the camping gear. Clothes should be kept separately. Heavier items should be kept at the bottom and the lighter item on the top while packing. Freezer should be well stocked and one cooked meal will be a good idea as when you reach the site you will be tired to do the cooking. Small but important items like tea bags, instant coffee powder, milk powder or condensed milk, sugar biscuits and of course most important water should not be forgotten.

Crockery and cutlery should not be very expensive one, so that even if it is lost or damaged it won’t be missed. Crockery items like plates, glass, cups, cooking utensils and more should be packed. Cutlery spoons and knife, forks also have to be kept. Other items to be packed can be barbeque tongs, can opener and vegetable peeler. However if you are camping at a place where water is an issue then it will be a good idea to take disposable plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. Try to collect as much information as possible about the camping site which you have chosen and know the dos and don’ts about the place.

Me and my friends want to take a road trip,or hiking/ camping trip. one that we can do in like a week or so, maybe even two. Any ideas? We are college students, so money is tight, but we arent planning on going for like a year. Thanks.

Then drive to Key West, and take a ferry there.

I don’t have the details any more, its been about 10 years, but its a federal park. Camping was super cheap, because nobody does it. By day theres a boat full of tourists. By night you have the island pretty much to yourselves.
We bought florida fishing licenses and fished off the dock.

If you do go, bring a metal detector. We buried some beer there, and never found it.
